Today when I woke up I opened my kitchen’s window to feel the fresh breeze, as the weather is very pleasant in the Washington DC suburbs. I felt like savoring the old fashioned peach & strawberry cobbler. My family enjoyed the breakfast experience as it was incredibly refreshing.
Here is the recipe for everyone to enjoy.
Ingredients:
- 4 fresh peaches, sliced (about 3 cups)
- 6 fresh strawberries, sliced (about 3 cups)
- 1 cup oat
- ½ almond, roughly coarse
- 2 tablespoons honey or agave, plus more if needed
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
Method:
In a tart crust dish, arrange the peach and strawberry slices evenly. Set aside.
In a food processor, add almonds, oats, butter, sea salt and honey. Blend to make a coarse filling.
Tip: Add more honey if needed for sweetness.
Pour the prepared filling evenly in a layer on top of the peach and strawberry slices. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes until the peaches and strawberries are broken or turn light brown. Serve warm.
