Tomatillo salsa is a delicious appetizer associated with Mexican cuisine. This can be made with green tomatoes, onion, jalapeƱos, lime, garlic, and cilantro. Besides enjoying it as an appetizer, we can pair it with any savory dish.
Ingredients:
- 4-5 tomatillos, small size
- 1 avocado, peeled and deseeded
- 1 cup fresh cilantro, finely chopped with stems and leaves
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 1 onion, small size
- 1 tablespoon roasted combination of spice powder (1 teaspoon cumin seeds, 1 teaspoon raw coriander, and 2 teaspoons crushed red chili flakes; combine and roast on low flame, then grind into a powdered form)
- 3 fresh green jalapenos, deseeded
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- Salt according to taste

Method:
Arrange the tomatillos, onions, and jalapenos in a baking-safe saucepan. Broil for about 5 minutes until the tomatillos are soft and roasted with some leftover juice.

Let them cool. Then blend the roasted tomatillos, onion, and jalapenos with the combination of the spice powder, garlic, lime juice, cilantro, avocado, salt, and the leftover juice to form a smooth sauce.
Tip: This sauce can be refrigerated for up to 3 to 4 days in an airtight container.
