My mother always reminds me of a precious gift who provides unconditional love and emotional support. This Creme Brulee dessert recipe is dedicated to my beautiful mother. To all the mothers out there: have a wonderful Mother’s Day.

Ingredients:

  • 8 egg yolks
  • 1 cup sugar (1/2 cup for crème brulee, and 1/2 cup for sprinkling)
  • ¾ teaspoons nutmeg powder
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla essence
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Fruits (optional)
  • Raspberry
  • Blackberry
  • Fresh mint leaves

Method:

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Meanwhile, bring water to boil in a large size kettle. In a large bowl add egg yolks. Whisk together with sugar, nutmeg, and salt. Then add heavy cream, milk, and vanilla essence. Whisk them until they all are well combined. Now carefully divide the mixture among crème brulee dishes. Place them in a roasting pan in the oven. Now very carefully pour the boiling water into the roasting pan around halfway up the sides of the dishes. Bake them until the edges of the crème brulee are set but jiggling in the middle (25-30 minutes).

Tip: Ensure the crème brulee does not overcook while baking.

After baking carefully transfer the dishes to cool in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. Before serving, sprinkle the crème brulee evenly with 2-3 teaspoons sugar. Torch the crème brulee over the top surface until the sugar melts and turns into a deep golden brown hue. After cooling down, serve with raspberry, black berry or mint.
